OUR HISTORY:

The Mount of Salvation C&S Church of America was founded by the Late Special Apostle /Prophet Michael Olayinka Osilesi and was originally registered in 1978 and reregistered in 1988. The name Oke-Igbala was taken after the Mother Church in Ajegunle, Lagos under Late Prophetess Celina Iyabode Odede.

Upon his arrival in the USA, Late Prophet Michael Osilesi worshipped briefly at the International house of Prayers under the leadership of Prelate Ogunfiditimi.  

The Late founder started his worship group at Apostle, Adebona; now Supt. Apostle, Adebona’s residence in 1978. The group later moved from the Adebona’s residence to the Grace Methodist Church on New Hampshire Avenue, in Hyattsville. Maryland.

The founder Late Prophet Osilesi went to Nigeria for his Youth Service in 1979/80 thru 1987 and the Church was under the leadership of Apostle Yinka Oluwole for the period of his absence.  The attendance was not encouraging after the departure of the founder, and most of the members worshipped briefly at The Temple of Praise C&S Church in Washington, DC under Prophet James Tayo. Upon arrival in 1987,  Prophet Osilesi also worshipped at the Temple of Praise then started a prayer group which was meeting in the Basement of one of the group members namely Mrs. Bankole in Forestville, Maryland. 

The group grew in number which prompted the move back to the basement hall of the Grace Methodist Church on New Hampshire Avenue in Hyattsville, which became the Church’s first sanctuary.  

The Church continued to grow, and from the Grace Methodist Church,  we moved to rent a space at the fire station on New Hampshire Avenue, in Silver Spring, and from there we proceeded to a more permanent setting at the University Christian Church in Hyattsville, where our services starts at about 2PM,  in the Multi-purpose room.

It was from this location that the Lord answered our prayers and provided us our own building in 1993 which was temporarily renovated and we had our first service in the building, a naming ceremony on August 1994 and the final renovation and Church rededicated in April 2008.
